lightning headphones not working on iphone 6s

hey, I have an iPhone 6s, totally updated, and my new lightning jack headphones doesn't work on my phone. it's not the headphones and theres nothing wrong with the jack, I can charge my phone

is it something wrong in the operative system? or what? please help me
