How do i I duplicate a photo on imac

After losing an edit on a recent photo when reverting to original, I searched for ways to duplicate an edited photo to protect it. I see that making a duplicate on an IOS device is simple, but not so on my iMac. Is there a way to duplicate an edited (or not) photo on my iMac?

If you are using the Photos App on your iMac, there are several ways:

Right click the photo, and from the resultant menu, select Duplicate 1 Photo.

From the top menu bar select Image, then Duplicate 1 Photo.

Select the photo, and tap the Command key and D.

Stedman1,

yes, I realized a right click worked very soon after I asked my question. I was concentrating on using the sharing tab as anything I had seen on line, especially for iOS devices, always seemed to refer to that operation. Always nice to discover a solution was so simple.
