phone number wont show up on imessage on mac

When I log into iMessage on my MacBook my phone number doesn't show up as an option.

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.14

Have you added the phone number to your Apple ID? Then try signing out of Messages/FaceTime and back in. Also make sure the number is set in FaceTime.
