MS Word for Mac loses headers from templates

Macbook Pro 2018 running Sequoia 15.7.2 and Microsoft Word for Mac 16.104. Word lost headers and footers from all templates. I had about 20 different templates, Creating new document preview shows them correctly but after starting new document from template header vanishes. How to fix? Are those templates lost for good?
