How do I change my MacBook login screen when the network password is not working?

This is Apple’s guidance for resetting your Mac’s login password:

If you forgot your Mac login password - Apple Support

There is only one Mac login screen. There may be several users from which you can choose to login.

Try pressing option + return on the login screen to get the username and password boxes instead.
