Delete one recording from itunes library without losing that recording completely?

there is one recording in my itunes library that isn't a song - it's a recording of my long deceased grandmother. How can I delete it from my itunes library so it isn't in the mix when i want to randomly play songs? I dont' want to accidentally delete the recording completely.
