I removed an AirTag associated with my Apple Account. I replaced the battery and have attempted to reconnect it, but now it will not connect, stating it is connected to another Apple account. It has never been linked to any account other than mine. I have attempted to reconnect by resetting the AirTag (battery removed five times) and it still states it is connected to someone else's account. Any suggestions?

Just to be sure ... when you attempted to reset this AirTag, did you confirm the different beep tone after removing the tag's battery five times? If so, and it is still possible that the tag is still activation locked regardless of what you try.
Should this be the case, AND that you purchased this tag either directly from Apple or an Apple Authorized Reseller, you will need to contact Apple Support directly to get this resolved. You may be asked to provide a proof of purchase.
