Facebook app interrupt audio playback on iPhone

I use the Facebook app to keep up with family, coworkers and groups but whenever I launch the app, it stops any audio I have playing. I’ve gone into the Facebook settings to disable all media sounds and I turned on data saver but that doesn’t work. I’ve also swiped Facebook up to completely close it out but my audio (typically Apple Music) will stop as soon as I open the app.

This happens with TikTok and Youtube which I expect because I’m actively watching content with sound. Im not actively watching content and do not engage any audio on Facebook so why does happen and how do I resolve this? I’ve deleted the Facebook app for now and am using the browser but it’s the worst user experience because they want you to use the app.

Is there a way to resolve this or should I just stick to using the browser for Facebook?
