Quick Start: transfer everything while keeping default iOS layout and widgets

Hey everyone, I’m setting up a new iPhone and I want to transfer all my important data (messages, contacts, apps, app data, accounts, etc.), but I don’t want my old home screen layout, widgets, or wallpaper to carry over. I want the default iOS layout and a clean “fresh start” visually, while still keeping all my data.

During Quick Start / iCloud restore, what’s the best option to choose to achieve this?

iPhone 12, iOS 26

Unfortunately, there are no options to do what you ask.

If you want the default IOS layout and a "fresh start", you will have to set up the phone from scratch and manually add apps, data, etc.....not using a backup.

In other words, if you use Quick Start to transfer data from the "old" phone or you restore an iCloud backup or a backup from a computer, the "new" phone is going to look just like your "old" phone.

Once the transfer process is complete, then you will have to make manual changes to the home screen layout, widgets, wallpaper, etc.

Getting Default GUI and Layout After Quick:

Take some screenshots of what you see, the next time you set this up anew. Simple enough. Don’t want to set it up anew? You’ll have to research the default iOS GUI and layout in order to find out how to set it up, however so.

But can i set it as a new iPhone and then with my Apple ID will i get everything i stored in iCloud ? (contacts, icloud drive,photos,etc..)

Your first question asked about using an iCloud backup or backup on a computer to set up your new phone.

If you are now asking if you can Sync data on iCloud to your new phone, then the answer is yes. Just make sure that your "old" phone has synced to iCloud before you set up the new phone.
