Apple Watch OS 26.2 and IOS 26.1 Family Setup issues
Hi,
So I gave my wife an Apple Watch SE 3 for her birthday that we have setup and linked to her iPhone 14 Pro; we also have a family iCloud setup with individual accounts for her, me and each of our children, with devices setup per person. But, once her Apple Watch SE 3 was setup and linked to her iPhone, it has over clubbed my and our kids iPhones tracking of our Health App and Fitness App stats. I have unlinked and relinked her Apple Watch and even factory reset it, with reboots of her iPhone as well; all to no avail.
What I have tried sofar:
On my wife's iPhone and Apple Watch:
- Unlink, reset and then, setup the Apple Watch anew - no change in the affect on my iPhone or the children's; we all have not new Health/Fitness app stats since my wife's initial Apple Watch setup on December 18th and the re-setup early on December 19th.
On my iPhone (14 base, no Apple Watch):
- Checked Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > Motion & Fitness, Fitness Tracking is enabled and only Health App is permitted (my Health App)
- Checked Settings > Privacy & Security > Paired Devices > none (0)
- Checked Settings > Apps > Fitness > Live Activities and Cellular Data as enabled (same as before my wife setup her Apple Watch)
- Checked Settings > Apps > Health > Sources > Health and Fitness apps have both listed under Data Access & Devices; but both Apps are not getting any data from my iPhone since my wife's Apple Watch was setup.
So, has anyone else experienced this and any suggestions one how to correct? I know the Apple Watch is the crux of the issue, as there was a brief period when I did the factory reset and setup on Friday morning, when my iPhone was receiving tracking Health and Fitness data; but no data was tracked (if that makes sense).
Thanks in advance for any suggestions. At this point, the only solution I can think of is to live with it; but I do need to track my own stats for health reasons and this apparent Apple setup oversight is annoying.
Note: I have read over Apple's Watch Support Docs, numerous Community pages, as well as well over 2 dozen similar topic website topics and threads, to try to work this out. I also will note, my Shared Family iCloud and Media/Purchases setup predates Apple's own official setup and has been migrated, so there maybe legacy settings therein that are not helping me in this matter; but I have previously spoken to 3rd Level Apple Support and know most of the work arounds that are viable for my setup (the only other option was to completely blow away my Apple ID and purchases, etc. (as well as Family members) and setup from scratch. This is not a viable solution and was due to my Apple ID in part, being from the very ancient Apple me.com or whatever it was back in the early 2000s).
