Several apps keep asking for permissions on the iPhone and complications disappear from the Apple Watch

Since I updated to 26.2, I’ve been having several issues that seem to be connected to each other somehow.

First of all, the Weather and the Calendar apps on my iPhone 14 keep asking for permission to use location services, several times a day. I’ve tried to go into the settings and manually give them permission to use location services all the time, or when the app or widget is used, but this keeps asking. The option to ”ask” is not available. Also, messages keep asking me for permission to share information about my focus to other users at least once a day.

At the same time, the complications for weather and calendar disappear from my Apple Watch. Sometimes giving them permission to use location services makes them magically reappear, but sometimes this doesn’t work. They’re suddenly just not there and I can’t select them.

I’m using iOS 26.2 and watchOS 26.2.

There are several posts in this forum, that describe the same issues (actually, I copied most of the text from one of those).

But all post are getting closed by Apple, even there is non working solution in any of them.

what I tried:

  • enabling/ disabling permission for the apps asking
  • disabling / enabling location at all
  • restarting devices (iPhone/ Apple Watch)
