Ever since the 26.1 update I have messages and phone calls coming through during my sleep focus. I tried turning on DND instead and it was the same. I’ve checked settings and have tried restarting my phone. Are others having this issue? Any suggestions? Tired of being woken up!

For starters, try the latest iOS 26.2 to rule it out being a software issue. And I use Sleep Focus every night and I am not having the issue.
Other people in iMessage have the option to Notify Anyway when you are in a Focus, which will bypass it. And for calls you may have the Allow Repeated Calls feature enabled or allowing certain groups of callers to bypass. You can check in Settings > Focus > [focus name] > People > Check the settings at the bottom.
You want it off. When that feature is disabled, messages will not display to others that you are in a Focus, and as a result they won't have the option to bypass it. Sounds counterintuitive.
With sharing enabled, others can tap "Notify Anyway" and it bypass the Focus and ding on your side.
With no sharing enabled, users don't know you are in a Focus and cannot bypass.
I didn’t realize there was already another update as my phone only updated last week. I have double checked the settings but will update again.
Got it. And you can try disabling sharing your Focus status with others and see tonight if you are bypassed for the message half. Settings > Apps > Messages > Turn off Focus.
I’m confused if I want “allow messages to access focus” on or off? It was on. Which I thought meant it would allow messages to know I was in a focus? I already had the share focus with others off.
