When is Apple going to fix copy/paste on the iPhone?

When is Apple going to fix copy/paste on the iPhone? Frequently, my iPhone stops allowing me to paste from one app to another. Both apps are set to allow copy/paste and the functionality does work more often than not. But then it suddenly stops and my only option is Autofill which does nothing. I can’t paste into the notes app either, because although the notes app allows a paste option, nothing pastes. If I power cycle the phone or close both apps and let it sit for 10 minutes or so, it sometimes resets and allows copy/paste again. Neither are great options.

You are making the assumption that because you have an issue, everyone does and copy/paste is broken. It's not for me at all. And I have 2 iPhones and 2 iPads, neither of which are having any issues with Copy Paste on iOS 26.2. Plus, asking when Apple is going to fix anything here, on a user to user only forum, which Apple neither participates nor reads for user feedback will not give you anything. Likely, Apple isn't working on

You left out some important information. What model iPhone do you own? What is the current iOS version on your iPhone?

I've never had any issues on any of the iOS versions, including the current iOS 26.2. Since you, however, seem to have issues, maybe schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar and let Apple test your phone --> Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple

If there is an error, (yes user error normally) it is because the clipboard has been cleared by doing some unrelated task between the copy and the paste actions.

If paste authority has not been granted in advance, permission is always sought in my experience.

I think you will have to give a specific example for us to try, because I am 99% satisfied with copy/cut and paste.

Continued problems over multiple iOS versions point to possible corruption.

Make sure you back up your phone!

Then, Erase it and set it up from scratch. Do NOT restore your backup.

If the problem persists, make an appointment at the genius bar.

If the problem goes away when set up from scratch without restoring a backup, you can try erasing it again and restoring from the backup. If it then returns, you can be confident the problem is corruption or something that's managed to work its way into your backups.

Erase and start from scratch again.
