Issues with eARC audio with Projector/Soundbar/AppleTV and 4K Switch
I have been trying to figure out why the AppleTV would drop audio when streaming in certain apps. I currently own Epson EpiqVision Ultra LS650 Ultra Short Throw 3-Chip 3LCD Smart Streaming Laser Projector // VIZIO Elevate Sound Bar for TV, Home Theater Surround Sound System for TV with Subwoofer and Bluetooth, P514a-H6 5.1.4 // Apple TV 4K (3rd generation) Wi-Fi // 4K120Hz HDMI 2.1 Switch with Exclusive eARC Port for Soundbar 8K HDMI Switcher 4 in 1 Out Support PS5, Xbox Series X, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, CEC.
I know a lot of connections, but necessary. I've tried every option with and without the switch. With and with out the Apple TV. I do not like the Google OS built-into the projector, and want my AppleTV hooked back up. Along with the AppleTV on the switch, I also have a PS5 and Switch 2. Forever the Atmos was not working correctly on the soundbar alone, so I purchased the 4K switch to help, which it did. But for some reason, the AppleTV will not recognize the soundbar at all, and I've done standard HDMI and have switched to the eARC, which is also hooked into the projector. I even tried Apple TV to soundbar and soundbar earc to tv. I've read over every forum on here that would potentially be an option, but none of the combinations seem to work or resolve the issue.
I was debating upgrading to the Ethernet version of the AppleTV expecting maybe that had updated hardware in it, or potentially if another generation is released in 2026.
Does anyone have any experience with the above equipment, or had this issue that can give me more of an insight to bring the AppleTV back into my theater room?
