Apple Watch Ultra 3 splits incorrect on Strava

Apple Watch (Ultra 3) outdoor runs not correctly syncing splits on Stava.

In short, the 1km auto-laps from my Apple Watch (using native workout app) are not showing correctly on Strava, where some of the laps are way offs (not seconds, like a minute in some instance). I have my Apple Watch in the simplest setting: no auto-pause, not pace range alerts, etc. just the basic 1km lap marker. I obviously sometimes manually pause my watch at red lights, etc. which seems to be the cause of the problem. Total distance, average pace and time all match. Just wrong splits shown on Strava.

Strava is the platform serious athletes use, and if this issue was a lack of integration / compatibility of the Apple Watch’s FIT files, this would be hugely disappointing. Strava works fine with all other major brands. Hopefully just a fix on my AWU 3.

Thanks for any help!

Apple workout and Strava handle pauses differently, in that in my experience, Watch does not truly pause.

I suggest using Strava app on the Watch and ignore the splits in the iphone Fitness app

That way Strava app syncs direct to Strava.com

It's a year or two since I used it but Strava have some good sync instruction articles.
