Has anyone found a way to improve the date display in Mac Photos under Tahoe? The font showing the date is now so small and feint that it's hard to see while scrolling through photos...

I can't even work out why this would be changed?!

Try Settings>Accessibility. You can turn on Bold text, which may do just what you want.
There is also "Larger Sizes."

That is a very good question. But I cannot see any settings Photos that will change the font size.
You could try to change the resolution of the Display in the System Settings > Display, but that would spoil the display of the photos as well.
You may want to send a feature request to Apple, to make the date range better readable.
