AirPods Pro 3 Siri unresponsive after timer

I am using an iPhone 17 Pro and AirPods Pro 3 on latest firmware and iOS 26.2.

I have an issue when I set a timer and it goes off. I am unable to voice evoke (e.g hey Siri) with my AirPod Pro 3. Even after manually stopping the timer, voice evoking Siri does not work for at least 2 minutes.

when not using AirPods, I am able to evoke Siri using my iPhone when the timer goes off and even tell it to “stop timer”.

anyone else able to reproduce this with AirPod pro 3’s?

of course I have reset settings, restarted phone, and even factory reset AirPods and set up voice activation for Siri again. Issue still persist.
