iPhone: Can't delete Apple TV app home videos (loading error

How to delete from iPhone home videos getting "there's a problem loading this content" error?

My iPhone has about 30 "home videos" in the Apple TV app which all get the error "there's a problem loading this

content" when I try to play them, but I cannot delete the videos in the Apple TV app or otherwise. I'm running an iPhone 12 Pro Max with iOS 26.2. I recently got this phone as a replacement under AppleCare, and when I got it, I

restored from a backup of the replaced phone. I use one (US) Apple ID for iCloud and another one for the UK App Store.

I have tried deleting the videos directly within the Apple TV app on the iPhone, but there is no delete function.

I have tried deleting the videos from iTunes for Windows, having logged into iTunes under each of my Apple IDs. I have tried syncing the iPhone to iTunes (using both Apple IDs) in order to overwrite the videos with

new copies. Sometimes, this achieved nothing. Other times, it would create a new (working) instance of each video alongside the non-working instance. In some cases, the new instance would also be defective.

I have also tried syncing to iTunes to remove the videos (all instances) completely. Right now, those videos are deleted from iTunes and removed from my iTunes Library, but the defective instances of the videos still appear on my iphone in the Apple TV app.

There are no video files in the "Downloaded" tab of the Apple TV app.

I have also tried syncing the iPhone to the Apple Devices and Apple TV apps for Windows. Same result as above.

How do I remove these defective videos and then put correctly working copies back on to the iphone?

Thanks.

Home Videos in the Apple TV app on iPhone aren’t downloaded directly to the device. They are typically added by syncing from a Mac or PC.

If these Home Videos appeared on your iPhone after restoring from a backup, they didn’t magically download themselves—they still belong to the computer that originally synced them. To get them back properly, you’ll need to resync your iPhone with the same Mac or PC that was used to create the original sync (and, by extension, the backup).

Syncing with a different computer won’t restore those videos, because iTunes/Finder treats them as tied to the original library. Think of it as the videos remembering their “home computer” better than we remember passwords.
