How to transfer Apple Pay balance to PayPal?

How can I transfer some of my apple pay balacne to my Paypal account? i.e. funds transfer

Essentially i want to transfer money from one account to the other and since they dont live in the same echo system my understanding is i have to use a medium, like my debit card.

Has anyone done this before, if so, does it work? Are the tweaks or quirks i should be prepared for ex. realtime transfer delays, etc

There’s no such thing as an Apple Pay balance. Apple Pay is not an account, it’s a service. Essentially Apple Pay provides an extremely safe and private tap-to-pay service.

Are you referring to funds in an Apple Cash account?

Thank you for your response, perhaps my verbatim isn't polished, I'm not tech savvy.

Apple Pay balance/card lives in the wallet app of an iPhone. Two ways to add cash to Apple Pay

1) Redeem apple gift cards

2) Add money from your apple account default credit card (if you have one setup)

(iPhone - settings - payments and subscription)

Essentially it's the card that a person keeps on file with their Apple ID/account. One can purchase apps, and houses their subscriptions which they used their Apple ID account information to subscribe too.

Apple.com sends a receipt once a month or however often billing is set up and or when purchases are made. Apps can vary from, ms 365, youTube, home security camera's, Apple TV, Apple Music, iCloud storage, ChatGpt, games, etc. this is located on an iPhone in setting - payments and subscriptions.

I can assure you Apple does have an Apple Pay card and it can hold a balance of funds. In order to use those fund on a the Apple Pay Card once loaded you must set up a default card in the wallet app.

The wallet app requires a default card to be set up in the wallet app for the Apple Pay Card/Balance to even show up in the wallet app, the default card associated to an Apple account/Apple ID, are not one a the same. You can use the same card (I would imagine) or not (I do not) but they are not automatically linked when you set up one or both functionalities with the iPhone i.e. Wallet app vs. Apple ID account. They are and act as two distinctly separate functions and therefore must be set up for each.

The only way one can use their Apple Pay balance, at least that I know of:

1) online apple stores

2) Apple Pay merchant machines (not all retailers support Apple Pay).

Which leads back to my original question put forth to the Apple Community

When you have funds on your Apple Pay card in your wallet on an iPhone, can some or all of the balance be transferred to the default card in your wallet i.e. bank or credit card? Or can the funds be transferred back to the card registered to ones Apple ID account?

Any insight is helpful, Thank you in advance

Happy Holidays to you as well!

First let’s take a look at the 3 possible cards in the Apple Wallet that Apple is associated with.

Apple Card, which is a credit card issued by Goldman Sachs Bank on the Mastercard payment network.

Apple Cash, which is a prepaid debit card issued by Green Dot Bank on the Visa Payment Card. Apple Cash is currently only available in the US. Apple Cash is a virtual card, no physical card is issued.

Lastly, Apple Account Card, which is a repository for Apple Gift Card funds. It is not part of any payment network. It can only be used for the purchase of good and/or services from Apple. This account is not available in all countries or regions. Funds in an Apple Account are non-refundable and non-transferable, except in rare situations.

What you can buy with your Apple Account balance or Gift Card - Apple Support

There is no Apple Pay Account. There never has been, but people are often confused by the three actual accounts and associated cards. Apple Pay is a service associated with Tap-To-Pay. Apple Pay cannot hold or transfer funds. Apple Cash is used to transfer funds. No other transfer service is available.

Please note the three cards mentioned above as they appear in an Apple Wallet app.

So, in answer to your question. Funds can be transferred from an Apple Cash Card to a PayPal account. Funds associated with Apple Card cannot be transferred, because Apple Card terms and conditions do not permit transfers (Cash Advances). Lastly, Apple Account funds are restricted by terms and conditions to the purchase of Apple goods and/or services.
