How to fix non-functional calendar search on iPhone 16 Pro with iOS 26.1?

The search function in calendar is not working in my 16 pro with IOS 26.1. Two weeks I agoni spent two hours on the phone with Apple care with no resolution. This is a something I use regularly and I find this glitch most annoying. In addition I maintain Apple Care on all my Apple products. For this hefty fee I expect Apple Care to fix this issue with an an IOS upgrade or by some other means. Counting on you Apple!

Turn Off and Re-Enable Calendar in iCloud

This forces iOS to rebuild the entire calendar index.

Settings → Your Name → iCloud → Show All → Calendar → OFF

Choose "Delete from iPhone" (don’t worry — it stays in iCloud)

Restart iPhone

Turn Calendar back ON

Allow 10–30 minutes for full reindexing.

This fixes about 60–70% of cases.

I’m trying this now although I believe I’ve tried it before without waiting sufficiently for calendar to reconfigure. Apple Care told me yesterday to patiently wait for new IOS which will address this. I’m not so patient!
