iPhone messages won’t load most of the text thread of specific contact

iMessage won’t let me load old messages from a thread from a specific contact on my iPhone. Every other contact can load the entire thread fine except for the person I text the most.

Force–quit Messages

Swipe up → close the app completely.

✔ 2. Restart your iPhone

(This forces Messages to rebuild the thread index.)

✔ 3. Reopen the thread and scroll slowly

Wait 5–10 seconds at the top before scrolling.

If the messages start appearing, you’re done.
