Personal iMessage background

Hi everyone,

I noticed Apple doesn't have an emailing system where I can ask them directly, or at least it’s unclear if they take these kinds of questions at all. However, I suppose I can put my thoughts out there here. Regarding the new iOS 26.1 update, will the iMessage background feature ever become personal to each user’s device? As of right now, when you change the background, both you and the other person can see it, which is a downside in my opinion. You’re forced to come to a mutual agreement on what it should be, and it takes away from any personal aesthetic options. In group chats, the connected background makes sense, just as the naming feature does, but for one-on-one chats I’d like the ability to display a background only I can see.
