I can't get into clamshell mode on Macbook Pro 2019 16"

I have Macbook Pro 2019 16" and running on TAHOE. I use Ugreen Revodok 106 Usb 3.2 hub. My MBP is connected to monitor via HDMI cable which is connected to Ugreen USB C HUB. I can't get into clamshell mode. Whenever I close the lid, Spotify keeps playing, It's grey screen then no displaying. How can I solve this problem ? Is it a problem with Usb HUB or HDMI cable ? Keyboard, mouse and power adapter is connected as well.

see if there is any resolve—

clamshell / closed lid:

How to use Clamshell (closed laptop) mode with a Macbook and external monitor.

Make sure the external keyboard, mouse, power adapter, and external monitor are connected to your Mac.

Make sure your Mac had POWER (this is important).

Close the lid of your laptop.

Keep the lid closed, press any key on the external keyboard to wake your MacBook/Pro from sleep.

"another" cable is a check against cables that are damaged.

HDMI cables you want for HDMI-only Displays (higher resolutions than 720p TV sets) are marked as Certified with an anti-counterfeiting tag and are labeled:

"PREMIUM High Speed HDMI cable" or that + "with Ethernet" (up to 4K at 30Hz) --OR--

ULTRA High Speed HDMI cable" or that + "48G" (supports higher resolutions and backward-compatible)

Cables with No Certification tags are good for your standard 720p TV set, and not much more.

if you close the lid on your MacBook Pro, the default action is to go to sleep.

If and only of you have all the right stuff connected, it will go into closed clamshell mode. However, as it does that, it re-evaluates what is connected. If anything is not up to required spec, that could mean the display does not come back on.

Common problems are USB cables connecting the dock are not rated for 20 G bits/sec, or are over 1 meter long.

Or HDMI cables that are not high enough spec for the display you have connected. Generally speaking, you need PREMIUM high speed HDMI cables for up to 4K at 60 Hz. Random cable found behind your TV set are NOT good enough for Mac displays.

Conclusion:

So if the music kept playing, it did not stay asleep. Check the connection to your display.
