iOS 26: iPhone not ringing with Peacock full-screen video

Ever since new ios 26 update, phone will not ring while watching full screen video on Peacock app but will display the caller id info. It will only ring if the video is minimized. I do not have any focus on, verified it is all off, attention aware is off, I have turned phone off, I deleted app and reinstalled and still will not ring while watching full screen like before update. All other apps will allow the phone to ring while wathing full screen video. Just not Peacock. So before update it worked, after updating to ios 26 and 26.1, not working.

Some streaming apps automatically suppress system sounds when in full-screen playback (to ensure no “accidental” noises). After recent updates, Peacock may be doing this by mistake.

  • Open a Peacock video.
  • Tap the screen → pause playback → stay in full screen.
  • Call your phone again.

If it rings when paused but not while playing, it’s a playback-audio suppression bug.

If you encounter any challenges with third-party applications, the best course of action is to directly contact the app developer for further assistance. Here's a brief guide on how to do it:

  1. Identify the app developer.
  2. Visit their website or app store listing.
  3. Look for their contact information or support channels.
  4. Clearly describe the issue you are facing.
  5. Provide any necessary information they may need.
  6. Follow their instructions and provide feedback.
  7. Be patient and follow up if needed.

By reaching out to the app developer, you increase your chances of receiving accurate and personalized support for the challenges you're experiencing. To contact an App developer --> How to contact an app developer - Apple Support

It's not always the iOS update's fault!  Many things can cause phone problems.  If you tell people you think it's an iOS update, it might make it harder to fix or find a solution for the real issue.

Remember, the right question often leads to the solution!

Was/Is your device Jailbroken? If that's the situation, please be informed that attributing the issues to iOS updates may not be accurate.

iOS updates aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. The majority of the issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors. This could be a pure coincidence that the iOS update affected the iPhone functions.

Before initiating a standard iOS update, it's advisable to create a backup. Have you completed this step? If yes, proceed with the restoration from the backup.
