MacBook Air screen freezes when maximizing apps

My MacBook Air Screen sometimes freezes when I click on maximize screen button in Safari or while using other Apps. This cause me to force quit (Cmd-Option-Esc) to close Safari or the App and restart it again. How to fix?

Restart the WindowServer (soft reset—no reboot needed)

Open Terminal and run:


killall -KILL WindowServer

Your screen will go black for 1–2 seconds, then macOS reloads all graphics processes.

(You may need to log back in.)

This fixes most full-screen freeze bugs temporarily.
