Apple iPhone Art Sync issue - A 10 year BUG - Apple please help
An issue since Apple launched Apple Music over a decade ago. I have ripped albums with custom art work downloaded to iTunes. Each album, and track in the album, is tagged with custom art. Looks as expected on iMAC and when I navigate to the "file information" folder location. When I sync to my phone via cable and "manual sync" from iTunes (Apple 17 PRO MAX), the album artwork is CACHED somewhere. Has to be ! Album artwork in the iPhone is "randomly" picking up and assigning album "key photos" or "thumbnail" artwork to each album in my imported universe. These "random" album folder cover art pieces are all cover art from previously downloaded artwork in my universe that I have imported to my phone over the years. I copied a few albums over to another NEW iMac, resynced my iPhone to the new computer library and the issue persisted. I then deleted all of the music from my iPhone and then deleted the Music App. This, in theory and per previous posts on this issue, should remove any cached art. No luck!! Reinstalled the Apple music app from the App Store and downloaded ONE album to my phone from my new iTunes library. The artwork was a CACHED item from my previous iTunes library download to the phone. This album art is NOT on my new computer so this MUST be cached on the iPhone!! I have purchased new iPhones over the years so somehow the upgrade process must be persisting historical downloaded album art in some directory. Apple can you provide guidance here ? I know Apple is moving to streaming.....and I'd subscribe if they can figure out the cover art issue. I have numerous bootleg concerts from various bands that I have ripped from CD's or third party sites......it's been an ongoing issue and is most certainly a BUG. After ten years and reading numerous posts on this same issue there has never been an official resolution or serious consideration by Apple. Please fix this. I have tried every hack out there. Ultimately, if a music file has album art affixed to it then this artwork should persist and be what is displayed on the thumbnail art on the iPhone.
