iPad Air 11-inch (M2) Pink Screen Loop - Persists after Official Restore
Hi everyone,
I am experiencing a critical failure with my iPad Air 11-inch (M2) and am looking for advice.
The Issue:
The device randomly shut down during use, preceded immediately by a full-screen pink flash. Since then, the device has entered a boot loop. It powers on for approximately 60 seconds, flashes the pink screen again, and shuts off.
Current Status:
Because I have attempted to troubleshoot this via a PC, the iPad is currently wiped and sitting at the "Hello" / Setup screen. I can begin the setup, but the time runs out usually around the "Choose Wi-Fi Network" screen. It flashes pink and cuts power every time.
Troubleshooting Steps Taken (Based on Apple Support Guides):
I have followed the steps outlined in the Apple Support article "If your iPad won't turn on or is frozen" to the letter, using the "Apple Devices" app on Windows:
- Force Restart: I performed the correct sequence for M2 models (Press/release Volume Up, Press/release Volume Down, Press/hold Top Button). The device rebooted but the pink screen loop persisted.
- Recovery Mode - Update: I connected to the PC, entered Recovery Mode, and chose "Update" to reinstall iPadOS without data loss. The update completed, but the crashing behavior remained.
- Recovery Mode - Restore: As a final resort, I performed a full "Restore" via the Apple Devices app to return it to factory settings. The Restore process finished successfully, but the hardware behavior has not changed.
My Question:
Since I have exhausted the official software troubleshooting steps (Update and Restore) and the issue persists specifically with this "Pink Screen," does this indicate a logic board or SoC failure on the M2 chips? Are there any deeper DFU steps recommended for this specific model, or is this a hardware replacement situation?
Thanks for any help.
