Troubleshooting Squeaky AirPods Audio Pitch:
A. Update the AirPods to the Latest Firmware:
There is not forceful way to install an AirPods update. Simply connect and pair these to a device that itself is already connected to the Internet. The firmware will be updated itself.
B. Reset These:

C. Interference:
It may be interference that getting in the way here.

If all else fails try the following which worked for a couple of users: take off the ear tip of the problem AirPod, rotate it 180º and put it back on. I have not idea what that would do but it fixed the problem for a couple of users.
That’s a useless recommendation based on the fact that it’s an electronic issue with the speakers and sensors, and not a fitment issue.
Well it worked for a couple of users. It had to do with something about the hole in the ear tip for the noise cancellation.
