This is pretty straightforward:
Open Contacts
Find your Contact and open their Contact Card by tapping their name in the list
Scroll down to the Share Contact option
Contacts will first prompt for which contact details you want to share (name, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, etc.)
Once set, click the check box. You'll then get the standard iOS share options where you choose how you want to share this data. Frequent/recent people you message with should be listed at the top, or choose the Messages icon to enter any other recipient's number.

One thing I loved about my android that forced me to return my iPhone 8 back in the day was the fact I could share a contact from within a text message by hitting the + button like you would a photo and share it in real
time with the person asking for it versus leaving that text opening contacts and then sharing from there. I also could share multiple contacts at a time say when a client asks for recommendations for a handyman I could send them 3 -4 different contacts from my text message screen by hitting the + button in text and then selecting contacts and then clicking the several handymen to send them from there. Any chance Apple can do that or may do that one day??

No one here has any ideas of Apple's future plans. There's not even a way to tell if it's on their radar.
The best you can do is provide direct feedback via a feature request: Feedback - Messages - Apple
