iPhone 13 Apple Music library empty after Windows sync

When I sync music from my Windows 11 laptop to my iPhone 13 (iOs 18.7.1) using Apple Devices and Apple Music the sync "appears" to complete successfully, but the Apple Music library on my iPhone is empty. I had previously been able to successfully sync music using iTunes but in trying to resolve another issue I removed Apple Music and associated "data" from my iPhone. Is it possible that the music is still on my iPhone, only hidden?
