Apple won’t refund my acct. My subscription is cancelled. The App is still trying to charge my card!! WTH?….

Hello,

I downloaded an app but it didn’t live up to its expectations. I cancelled and requested my info/acct be deleted through the app on 11/8/25. The next day I saw a charge from the app for $7.99. I immediately emailed their support and requested a refund. On the ninth there was an erroneous charge from the same app for $2.99. We have been emailing back and forth since then. I didn’t realize I had to cancel from inside Apple as well but officially cancelled via App Store on 11/12/25. Today the app informed me that the purchase I am needing refunded was done via Apple so I must go thru you to get my money back. When I attempt to request the refund it’s tells me I’m not eligible for any refunds at this time. Additionally the app is STILL attempting every day to charge my card another $44.99 for a subscription I do not have nor want! I am so frustrated with this entire situation! My refund request is only $7.99? The app is looking into it?. At this point I’m ready to just have visa charge the amount back and just removed ALL payment info from my Apple account because I don’t want to get hit with a almost $50 fee for nothing and may not get it back!

I can't tell if you subscribed directly with the developer or if you subscribed through Apple.

So what do you have showing in your Purchase History here. These are the purchases managed by Apple. You can post a screenshot if you wish as long as it does not contain any personal information.

I still can't tell where you made the purchase. For most they have been directed to the Nebula website, and are facing the subscription with the developer directly after receiving a "reading". The financial information is given to Nebula at that point. The subscription is started and would continue whether you downloaded the app or not. While it is possible to start a subscription in the Nebula app where it is managed by Apple, I just have not seen it to be the case as most users have clicked a link in a Social Media post or advertisement to take them directly to Nebula.

Subscriptions that are managed by Apple are seen here. Does it show there?:

I initially requested the refund directly from Nebula. I got the following response from them yesterday:

Hi Yvette,

Thanks so much for getting back to us - I totally understand how frustrating this situation can be, especially when you're trying to resolve something that doesn’t feel fair. Because your payment was processed through Apple Store, we don’t have access to their billing system - that means we’re not able to issue a refund from our side directly. I know that’s not ideal, and I really wish we could handle it for you.

This setup is also outlined in our Terms of Use (S. 5 and 6), just so you’re aware - refunds for mobile purchases need to be handled by the store you purchased through.

That said, you can still request a refund directly from Apple Store, and here’s a guide to help with that step-by-step: How to request a refund through Apple Store

If anything’s unclear or you just need help walking through this, don’t hesitate to reach out - I’m right here.

Warmly,

Thomas from Nebula Team

So afterwards, I went to Apple to request the refund but, it said I had none available. The subscription was cancelled with Nebula on the 8th, this charge was done after that request was made, the payment processor couldn't see the account was being deleted and it charged me anyway but it was an error. My entire account was deleted out of their systems (well it should've been), so I can not access them directly any longer. The subscription was just cancelled in Apple's system on the 12th. I just got this notice from the app yesterday so, I get that my timeline is a bit off. However, it is not because of me. Additionally, I requested this refund within a few hours that was on the 8th. They didn't advise me that they weren't able to do it until the 24th! Its unfair that due to a glitch in the system I am paying for a service I never even received. Not to mention now they are trying to charge me an additional $44.99? What for? I have no clue?

Apple won’t refund my acct. My subscription is cancelled. The App is still trying to charge my card!! WTH?….
