LG OLED TV input delay with Apple TV and Xfinity

Connecting LG OLED TV to xfinity and an Apple TV box.

I have my own modem, an xfinity box and an Apple TV box. However, when I turn on the television, Xfinity box or Apple TV it takes a while to get to either the Apple TV or Xfinity depending on what we want to watch. I keep having to use the tv remote to scroll through input options and after a few times I get either the Apple TV (HDMI 4) or the Xfinity (HDMI 3). Is there a better way to hook these up? Thank you.

Apple TV 4K, tvOS 26

If CEC is turned on on all your HDMI devices, including the TV, then when you wake one of the connected boxes, then the TV should also wake, and the input should then be set/switched to the device that was woken first.

On Apple TV box: Settings﹥Remotes and Devices﹥Control TVs and receivers﹥On

On the TV: See its manual.

On the Xfinity box: See its manual.

CEC functionality is implemented by each manufacturer, as they see fit. Some CEC functions may not be supported on all HDMI devices. The only mandatory function is passthrough of the CEC signals throughout the whole HDMI chain. On most HDMI devices, CEC only has an on|off setting, no further configuration. Many manufacturers use their own trade name for CEC, so it may be listed in the manual under a different name.
