Cannot connect Philips 9050 hearing aids to MacBook Air M1

I purchased new Philips 9050 hearing aids with new LE Bluetooth platform. I cannot connect them to my Apple MacBook Air with an m1 chip from 2020. My old hearing aids will connect just fine.

Any idea how to connect with the new LE Bluetooth platform or is there a way to update the computer?

are those MFI hearing aids? this is the official list:

List of Made for iPhone hearing devices - Apple Support

At the bottom of that article are the hardware requirements for Macs to talk directly to MFI hearing aids.

I don't think your MacBook makes the [surprisingly recent] Cut:

  • MacBook Pro introduced in 2021 or later using macOS Sonoma 14 or later
  • MacBook Air introduced in 2022 or later using macOS Sonoma 14 or later

Older Macs may require a TV streamer device, such as the GN Resound TV streamer 2

Tv streamer 2 about 3 inches tall
