Whatsapp account keep getting banned on Iphone
I have been experiencing a recurring issue where my WhatsApp account on my iPhone 8 Plus keeps getting banned. About three weeks ago, I lost my iPhone 13, which was signed in with the same Apple ID I currently use. I activated Lost Mode and Erase through Find My. The person who took my phone even contacted me and claimed they could “help with data backup” because they were planning to perform a bypass, but I ignored the message since I had already accepted the loss of the device.
However, about a week ago, my WhatsApp account suddenly became banned, and this happened twice. As a precaution, I decided to change my phone number and delete the old WhatsApp account because I was worried that someone might be attempting to hack me through my phone number. But this morning, even though I’m already using a new number, my WhatsApp account was banned again. It started as a temporary restriction, then escalated into a full ban. It also happened after last night I receive an email from Find My that my iPhone 13 was asked for Apple ID password activation key.
I’m trying to understand what is happening. Is it possible that my Apple ID has been compromised, and WhatsApp is detecting suspicious activity because of that? Or is there another explanation for why my WhatsApp account continues to get banned even after changing my number?
