QuickTime Player crashes after updating to macOS 15.7.1

My Quicktime player crashes after updating to macos 15.7.1 (24G231).

The app crashes most of the time when I open an audio-file (regardless the type) in the editing mode (Cmd+T). I frequently use this function as I need to see the sound wave. What could make it crash?
