Unable to request refund for Goodnotes app one-time payment

To use my Goodnotes subscription on my Windows laptop, I need to request a refund from Apple so that I can resubscribe on the Goodnotes website itself as I had bought a subscription that only can be used on Apple devices, however, when I signed into reportaproblem.apple.com and followed the steps, the refund option for Goodnotes was not applicable. This was the solution on Goodnotes FAQ too. Any solutions?

It was not a subscription

As you can see I am confused. ;-)

I do so wish I knew exactly what the message said, but in general Apple can refuse refunds except in a few countries or except an item is unvailable or defective (Legal - Apple Media Services - Apple). If Apple refuses to issue a refund you are welcome to contact them about this. This is a customer to customer support site so apart from what is in Apple's support documentation all we know is what other customers tell us. Refer to this page for Apple Support for different countries ➔

Choose your country or region - Official Apple Support

Select your country (if you do not see your country, also look for "other" in regions; e.g., "Other Africa"), then "Choose a product". Click the "show" item under each category for more selections. If you don't see one that handles your issue then keep experimenting with selections until you reach one that gets you a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.

Did you cancel your subscription and wait for it to end completely? This support article explains how to cancel a subscription from Apple on an Apple mobile device, Mac, PC, and online (see the Android section) ➔ If you want to cancel a subscription from Apple - Apple Support

If you asked for a refund was it simply that your refund was refused? Refunds are not guaranteed.

It is confusing. I have a GoodNotes subscritption (through the App Store) for $9.99 a year. I've had it for several years at least. Looking at the subscriptions available through the App Store, none of them are anything like the ones on the website.

I found this on the website:

All Goodnotes 6 subscribers are seamlessly converted to Goodnotes Essential plan, and all Goodnotes 6 One-Time Payment users are converted to Goodnotes Special Edition.

So, possibly, the OP purchased it through the One Time Payment? I don't know what that would have to do with converting to the current plans, though.
