How to change the tempo of imported audio in GarageBand?

Am no expert in this area, yet your post to the community deserves some response.

We don't know which Garageband version you are using, and whether or not the imported audio is your own work, or protected audio. Eg: Seems changing the tempo for songs from the Music app would not be possible in Garageband.

Apple Support's article: Import a song from the Music app into GarageBand for iPhone - Apple Support

Eg: says:

You can import songs from the Music app on your iPhone into Tracks view. You can import a song to an existing Audio Recorder or Amp track, or have GarageBand create a new Audio Recorder track for the song.

Songs imported from the Music app do not follow tempo changes you make in GarageBand.

Note: You can only import unprotected songs stored locally on your iPhone.

For iPhone with Garageband version 2.3.18 iOS

• Tap the Settings button in the control bar to open the settings.

Seems you can Change song settings in GarageBand for iPhone - Apple Support

Eg: says:

"Each song has a tempo (speed) that lasts for the entire song.

You can change the tempo when either a Touch Instrument or Tracks view is open.

1. Open the song settings, then tap Tempo to show the tempo controls.
2. Do one of the following:

• • Set the tempo: Tap the tempo bar repeatedly.
  • Change the tempo incrementally: Tap the up or down arrow next to the tempo number.

You can swipe vertically to change it in larger steps.

When you change the tempo of a song, recordings from Touch Instruments (except the Audio Recorder and Amp) change to match the new tempo. Apple Loops also change to match the new tempo."
