Dock stopped following vertical monitors

Hi everyone,

I’m using a Mac Studio M2 running macOS Sequoia 15.7.2, with two monitors arranged vertically (one above the other).

My Dock is set to auto-hide and positioned on the right side of the screen.

Until recently, the Dock used to appear on whichever screen edge I hovered over, regardless of which display was set as the main one.

Now, it only shows on the bottom screen (main one).

When I switch the monitors to a horizontal layout, the Dock appears on both screens again.

I’d like the Dock to behave as before - to appear on both screens when hovering, without having to constantly change the main display.

Is there a way to restore this behavior?

Thanks!

Mac Studio, macOS 15.7

If you use Extended Desktop:

The dock will appear on the designated edge of the primary display, unless you have extended that edge of the extended desktop by placing another display (anywhere) along that edge. In that case, the Dock will appear on the displayable portion of the extended desktop.

--------

If you wish to treat each display separately, and have menubar and dock on each, that can be accomplished using 'Spaces' feature of mission control, and its generalization into 'Displays have separate spaces'. This may only work when you have selected Dock hidden.

The 'wish list' link is below:

When I suggested you turn on "displays have separate spaces", enabling that feature abandons using all your displays as ONE big Extended Desktop and allows you to instead treat each display as its own, self-contained separate space.

With "Displays have Separate spaces" enabled, each display has its own menu bar and dock. Showing the dock on one has no impact whatsoever on any others.
