Apple Music playing wrong songs during SharePlay on CarPlay

Has anyone else been having an issue with SharePlay on CarPlay where when the person who is in your session tries to play a song, Apple Music will instead play a song that is already in your library/one of your playlists?

I have been unable to truly put my finger on the exact condition it occurs, but everytime it does happen it is always a song I know is in my library/playlist and the person playing the song is trying to play a completely unrelated song. I have been seeing this glitch ever since the releases for IOS 26 and even on stable versions it is still persisting.

I found a workaround while the bug is still around; while you're Car Play Share Playing, try playing something from the guest's device, such as a playlist or their whole library on shuffle. Then allow the host to turn their music back on.

Suddenly, I'm able to add most songs correctly. I have to redo this process each session, but it works well once I do it. The only songs that don't work are songs that I have downloaded offline that aren't in the playlist I used; I still have to test it, but I'm guessing this issue would go away if I were to run my whole library on shuffle instead of just the playlist I used.

Granted, my iPhone is running 18.7.2 (only my host is running 26), so I don't know how well this workaround works playing from a 26 guest to a 26 host.

I'm experiencing the same issue. I run iOS 18 and my father runs iOS 26.

I can only add songs that are in his library; otherwise, if it is not in his library, it maps it to a random song in his library. It is deterministic - adding a song not in his library always maps to the same wrong song.

Next time I have a chance, I might see if I can get a proper bug report filed; hopefully Apple will actually give a darn then.
