Apple TV not working on Sony Bravia

Ever since I bought this Sony Bravia TV, the Apple TV app has had problems. It makes me log in every single time I open it, and does not save any settings, including Show Sports Scores so I have to be spoiled with sports scores no matter how many times I tell it not to.

Starting yesterday, I simply can't log in at all - after opening the app and logging in, it just shows the spinning wheel, forever and ever until the TV puts itself to sleep.

I opened a case with support, they said there's nothing that they can do and then blamed the TV. But, every single app on the TV works just fine, and then if you check the reviews for the Apple TV app in the TV's app store, they are full of 1 star reviews of hundreds of people with the same problems. It has a 2.1 star rating right now.

What can be done? Anything? Or am I just at the mercy of waiting for Apple to fix the app (which has been having these problems for months)?

Apple develop the app for other platforms so they would be responsible to investigate and fix any issue encountered (just as it would be for developer of 3rd party apps on Apple devices). The only thing you can try is deleting the app and reinstalling (if you haven't already).

I would suggest escalating it to a more senior advisor with support and encourage anyone else experiencing the issue to also do so.

The app cannot be deleted. It says it is an android system app and built into the TV. My only option is to update (and it is of course up to date.)

I'm not going to waste my time talking to a senior advisor with support when the problem is so clearly a bug in the app since it affects literally everyone who is on Sony Bravia.

Well that is strange as I also have a Bravia and it can definitely be deleted on my system. Perhaps it's model dependent? I just don't happen to use it much as I prefer the Apple TV hardware.

There is no debate as to whether it is a bug but Apple is the one who needs to fix it. The only way to ensure that they are going to investigate is to talk to support and escalate it until you are satisfied that it is being looked into. You can also use the feedback form but you won't get a response to that.

This is a user forum so there isn't anything anyone here can do when it comes to bug fixes.
