iPad Pro 11" (3rd gen) touch screen unresponsive after updating to iPadOS 26.0.1

After updating my iPad Pro 11-inch (3rd generation) to iPadOS 26.0.1, the touch screen stopped responding completely. The Apple Pencil still works, but its input is extremely slow — when drawing, it registers individual dots about once per second instead of a continuous line.

This issue happened immediately after the software update. The device has no physical damage, so I strongly believe this is a software-related problem.

Troubleshooting steps I have already tried:

  1. Force restart
  2. Removed screen protector
  3. Cleaned the screen
  4. Updated again to iPadOS 26.1
  5. Reset the device

None of these steps solved the issue.

I am not the only one experiencing this. Many users are reporting the same problem after updating to iPadOS 26.x:

This appears to be a widespread software bug affecting the touch input system on certain iPad Pro models.
