Now I know that iPods is mostly obsolete but I am trying to figure out how to log in through my Apple ID in the iPod touch 4th gen because I genuinely think this can be a cool idea because when I try and use my Apple ID it just asks for my password and keeps asking

Access to the iTunes Store now requires iOS 10.0 or later, but your 4th generation iPod Touch will be using iOS 6.1.6, which means that you cannot access the store from your iPod.
However, you can still get the store via iTunes on your computer. That will allow you to buy music from the store, download it to your iTunes library and then copy it to your iPod.
