Macbook Pro loose USB-C wire cable

If your USB-C wire falls out out of MacBook Pro whenever you move your device the slightest, you should unplug your adapter grab a pair of pliers and give the plug a slight widening crimp so visually your plug would not deform but be a bit wider from original. You still need to fit it back into the ac jack of the MacBook pro.

Using Tool to Loosen a Mac's Port:

I'm not gonna quote every thing you said, but what you said is bad advice --especially for those who have AppleCare+, as it would cancel serviced when fund out about. That would be considered intentional damage.

Interesting to hear that helped you as well. Another reader suggested this, and it worked for them as well.

They, like you, pointed out that this must be a gentle, subtle adjustment to the PLUG.

The PLUG is the part on the end of your cable. The part on the computer is the JACK, and as The Littles suggest, you should not modify the JACK for fear of messing up your warranty.

FYI, the only Apple USB-C ports that would wear down & have a loose connection were the 2016-2017 models where the edges of the tabs within the USB-C port were just plain fiberglass & epoxy resin so repeated connections would wear down the edges of those ports. Later Mac models from 2018+ had a metal edging added to prevent the wear & tear in order to keep the connections tight over time. I have yet to see a 2018+ Mac have loose ports.

With the older 2016 & 2017 models, the USB-C ports are located on a small I/O Board and can be replaced on the Touchbar models only. Unfortunately Apple integrated the USB-C ports onto the Logic Boards of the non-touchbar models from 2016 & 2017.
