Being charged for a subscription that I canceled the same day

I downloaded an app (Photo Director) it said seven day free trial..right after I downloaded it, within a few minutes. I cancelled it..They charged me 79.99. They won’t refund my money…I’ve tried twice….I’ve spoken to someone, I’ve chatted with someone. This is so unfair.

Yes it’s in my subscriptions through Apple…. I sent in a refund request they denied it. I disputed it they denied it. I talked to somebody, he said once it’s disputed and they decline it…that’s the final decision.. he told me he can see that I canceled it within a few minutes, but because I already had a free trial like I don’t know when months before….that’s why I couldn’t get the free trial….I get that but it shouldn’t say free trial or something should alert me that I already had a free trial….. and if not, I either way, we I feel that I should get my refund

I understand. You will always see the promos for a Free Trial (and yes the terms state that they can only be used once) when visiting a website or even when launching the app if you are not signed in or it is a fresh copy of the app. There is no way for them to check your purchase history to know if you had previously used a free trial. It is like if I go to the Hulu website or download the app, it will have the free trial offer, but I know since I have already used their free trial I will not be eligible.

The point where you will know if you had a free trial and are going to be charged is before double clicking the side button to authorized the charge/free trial. There will be no Free Trial showing like there is usually and the Subscription start date will be today. That is where Apple can check your purchase history to see if you are eligible for the free trial.

You only get one free trial for an app. After that the subscription launches for its full term immediately.

- You may be billed immediately for a free trial if you or a Family Sharing member has already once had a free trial for that item. In that case you will see immediate subscription commencement information on the authorization page.

- You need to cancel free trials at least 24 hours before they end or else they may turn into a full subscription.

About the refund, here's a section from the U.S.A. version of Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions - Legal - Apple Media Services - Apple You can see if the terms are different for where you live by clicking on this link Legal - Apple Media Services - Apple select your location and then your language.

- "All Transactions are final."

Apple's terms of purchase in the USA are, "All Transactions are final," ( Legal - Apple Media Services - Apple section B), but check the terms for your country. Even if Apple does not outright say in a country that sales are final, they may say that refunds are only made to remedy defective or unavailable product. In other cases Apple may make limited refunds solely at their discretion and as an exception. Apple can also simply say no without having to provide a reason. I understand this can be frustrating but by using the service you agree to the terms.

Yeah, at the time I didn’t realize that I already had used a free trial, had no idea… and I think that’s the point where I realized uh-oh what did I do..because when I clicked to pay, then I immediately canceled like within minutes…and when I talked to Apple, they can see that I subscribed and that I immediately canceled, but they should refund me. That’s what I think I mean people make mistakes…shouldn’t have to pay $80 even if I wanted the subscription… I just wanted to try it to see if I liked it because there are so many photo apps… it gets confusing and each one is a little different…
