Unlocking Macbookpro 2023. Apple ID Locked. Ex employee

Back in 2023, we purchased a MacBook Pro M2 Max for an employee who specifically requested it for work purposes. Unfortunately, that employee has since left the company, and the entire department they were part of has been dissolved — so the MacBook has barely been used and will likely not be needed internally.

I was tasked with preparing it for resale, but we’ve run into a major issue:

-The MacBook is still locked to someone’s Apple ID and password.

-We also don’t have the alternative Mac password.

-We contacted the ex-employee, and they said they removed the device from their iCloud account, but the MacBook still remains locked.

-We contacted Apple Support, but they said they can only assist if we provide proof of purchase that includes the serial number.

The problem is that all we have on record is the credit card statement showing the payment to Apple Korea.

We believe the MacBook was ordered directly from the Apple Korea online store in 2023 (we’re based in Seoul).

Does anyone know if there’s a way to retrieve a copy of the original purchase invoice from Apple Korea, or any alternative documentation that Apple might accept for ownership verification?

Any guidance would be much appreciated — we just want to properly unlock and repurpose (or sell) this device through the correct channels.

iPhone 13, iOS 18
