ipad crashed after automatic update

Error code 4013 is the END of your product. I have wasted so much time trying to restore it, by myself and with tech support. I took it in to the shop today and it couldn't be restarted or wiped. To get new parts will cost as much as a new one, so please be careful doing APPLE updates. To be clear, they are aware and don't care, just expect us to keep replacing them. I hope this at least saves you some time and frustration.

Had this same error when my daughters 7th gen iPad was trying to update to latest software. When taken into the Apple Store they said was a hardware issue and could not be fixed. Bought a new iPad. A few weeks later my son tried to update and exact the same problem. It stands to reason that in both cases the update was the common denominator and so both iPads are now obsolete overnight. Not ideal.
