Impossible to turn off File Vault. Why?
I have tried many suggestions on the web including via the Terminal but nothing works. I decrypted and tried again but still the turn off button is greyed out

You cannot change Filevault while it is in the process of encrypting or decrypting the system. You must wait until the process has finished.

What do you mean by decrypted here? At first glance it sounds like you turned Filevault off (decrypted it).
Also, why do you want to turn Filevault off? That same reason may also be why you are having issues with Filevault.
