old apple ID being used
When trying to update an app in my iPhone Apple Store asks for a sign in to the apple ID and uses an email which is no longer valid, no longer used and I have no record of the password. The App cannot be used until it is updated.
The iPhone is signed in correctly to the current apple ID.
The old email is not loaded in apple account.com.
Is the answer to delete the app and reload the updated version? I have some data in the old app which I will need to transfer if that is the case.
