Cannot Reinstall macOS Big Sur 11.7.10 - Internet Recovery Error -1007F
Hello,
I am attempting to reinstall macOS Big Sur (version 11.7.10) on my Mac, but I am running into a persistent issue with Internet Recovery mode.
The Problem:
When I start my Mac using Command (⌘) + R (or Option (⌥) + Command (⌘) + R), it attempts to enter Internet Recovery, but then fails and displays a screen with a globe, an exclamation mark in a triangle, and the following error:
$$\text{[support.apple.com/mac/startup](https://support.apple.com/mac/startup)}$$
$$\text{-1007F}$$
(See attached image for the exact screen.)
The Mac will not proceed past this point to the macOS Utilities window.
My Mac's Details:
- Mac Model: MacBook Pro (13-inch, Early 2015
- Processor Type:
- macOS Version trying to install: Big Sur 11.7.10
- Original OS (if known):
What I have tried so far (Troubleshooting Steps):
- Tested key combinations: I have tried Command (⌘) + R, Option (⌥) + Command (⌘) + R, and Shift (⇧) + Option (⌥) + Command (⌘) + R. All combinations lead to the same -1007F error.
- Checked Internet Connection: I have verified that my Wi-Fi is working correctly. [Optional: I have also tried connecting via an Ethernet cable, but the error persists.]
- Reset NVRAM/PRAM: I have performed a reset by holding Option + Command + P + R at startup.
- Reset SMC (System Management Controller): [Only include this if your Mac is Intel-based and you performed the SMC reset.]
I do not have access to another Mac to create a bootable USB installer at this moment, which is why I am relying on Internet Recovery.
Has anyone else encountered this -1007F error when reinstalling Big Sur, and is there a known workaround, especially for this specific Mac model? Any advice on how to force the recovery process past this network error would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help!
