Finder Sidebar shortcuts for local network volumes not working

In Tahoe, any sidebar shortcut that is on a local network volume that isn't already connected will show a message saying the link is missing when clicked. This was never the case in any previous OS that I can remember. As long as you had a working shortcut dragged over when the volume was originally connected, after a restart, you could click on that sidebar shortcut and it would automatically connect (as long as you had selected the "Remember Password" button after the initial connect).

Is there another way to do this in Tahoe, or is this a bug?

The "" is shown for any link that is clicked, no matter the name. Once I manually connect to the volume, the links do work. The volume is an SMB connection, if that makes a difference.

I and another user at my company are on 26.1 and it is still not working. I can create a shortcut in the sidebar for a directory on one of our network servers (NFS) and will work fine in the Finder but not from with an application like Word and Photoshop.

Worse yet, if i reboot, the shortcut stops working in the finder too. The only workaround is create an alias by holding down the command and option keys while dragging the network folder to someplace like my Desktop. I can then drag it the sidebar. Then it works in the finder and from within Photoshop and Word.

This has been reported here by others. We’ll see if 26.1 fixes it.
